ECCE is the foremost IEEE conference in thefield of electrical and electromechanical energy conversion, co-sponsored bythe IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) and the IEEE Industrial ApplicationsSociety (IAS). The annual ECCE conference was founded in 2009 through themerging of the PELS Power Electronics Specialist Conference (PESC) and theIndustrial Power Conversion Systems Department Sessions of the IAS AnnualMeeting, both with a long history and excellent reputation. The broad base,appeal and quality of ECCE are a testament to the cooperation and strategicplanning of both IEEE societies. Since its first meeting in 2009, ECCE has beensteadily growing in the scope, quality, and number of technical papers,attendance, participation and involvement of the industry. In 2016, ECCE has reacheda record setting attendance of over 1600 engineers, researchers, students,business managers, and policy makers.
